This page explains, in plain terms, what When Is Easter does and does not do with your visit. The short version: every date calculation runs in your own browser, nothing you type into the calculator is sent to a server, and the only data this site collects is anonymous and does not identify you.

What the calculator does with your input

The Easter date calculator on the homepage and the year-by-year table run entirely as JavaScript in your browser (the table is also pre-computed as plain HTML at build time, so it works even with JavaScript disabled). When you type a year or click a +/- button, that number is used immediately by code running on your own device to compute a result using a well-known, public calendar formula. It is never transmitted to this site's servers, logged, or stored anywhere outside your browser.

The last year you checked is saved to your browser's local storage so the field stays filled in if you refresh the page or come back later. Local storage is a standard browser feature, similar to a cookie but not sent over the network with every request; it stays on your device until you clear it, either through your browser's own settings or by clearing the field on the calculator itself.

The feedback button

The homepage has a small "was this tool helpful" feedback control. Clicking a thumbs-up or thumbs-down sends a single anonymous signal to this site's server: which tool you rated, and whether you clicked up or down. No year you looked up is included in that signal, and no cookie, IP address, or device fingerprint is stored alongside it. A flag is saved in your browser's local storage afterward so you are not asked to vote again on a later visit; that flag never leaves your device.

Analytics

If this site uses a web analytics service, it is a privacy-focused, cookieless option that reports only aggregate figures such as total visits and popular pages: it does not track individuals across visits or across other websites, and does not use cookies to do so.

The anonymous, aggregate feedback signal (thumbs-up/thumbs-down counts) is kept only to understand whether a tool is generally useful, is never linked back to an individual visit, and contains nothing that could identify who submitted it.
