For any other year, from 1900 to 2199, use the calculator on the homepage.

How this table was generated
Every date in the table above was calculated using the same public calendar formula the homepage calculator uses: the Anonymous Gregorian algorithm for the Western date, and the Meeus Julian algorithm (converted to its Gregorian civil-calendar equivalent) for the Orthodox date. The table is computed once when this page is built, as plain HTML, so every row is visible and readable even with JavaScript turned off, and can be indexed or quoted directly by search engines and AI assistants.
Before publishing, the formula's output was checked against dates published by an independent reference source for 2024 through 2029 and matched exactly, including the two years in this table (2025 and 2028) where the Western and Orthodox columns show the same date.
How common is each date?
Not every date between March 22 and April 25 is equally likely. Over the roughly 500-year period from 1600 to 2099, Easter most often falls on March 31 or April 16. The rarest date by far is March 22, with April 24 and March 23 also uncommon. A quick scan of the table above shows the mid-to-late-March and early-to-mid-April dates repeating more often than the extremes at either end of the range.
This unevenness comes from the interaction between the 19-year lunar cycle used to find the Paschal Full Moon and the Gregorian calendar's own leap-year pattern. The two cycles only fully realign after several centuries, so short stretches of years, like the 21 shown in this table, will always look somewhat irregular rather than evenly spread across the full March 22 to April 25 window.
Reading the Orthodox column
The Orthodox column shows the date many Eastern Orthodox churches observe Easter, expressed as a Gregorian calendar date (the date it would appear on a Western wall calendar), even though the underlying calculation uses the older Julian calendar. In most years this falls one to five weeks after the Western date; in some years, such as 2025 and 2028, the two calculations land on the same Sunday, marked "same day" in the table above. See how the date of Easter is determined for why the two calendars produce different results, and why they still occasionally agree.
Using this table alongside the calculator
This table covers 2020 through 2040 because that range covers the years most people are actually looking up: recent past years, the current year, and the near future. For a year outside that window, from as far back as 1900 to as far ahead as 2199, use the calculator on the homepage, which computes the same Western and Orthodox dates for any year in that range instantly, along with a live countdown to the next upcoming Easter Sunday.
